Track 1: Wood Pellets & Densified Fuel
This track will focus on the technologies, strategies and market developments shaping the pellet and densified biomass industries, including traditional white pellets, black pellets, biochar and briquettes. Presentation topics may include plant operations and optimization, process improvements, drying and size reduction, storage and handling, emissions control, fire and explosion protection, feedstock procurement and quality, logistics, maintenance and reliability, and new technologies that can improve efficiency or reduce costs. Other areas of interest include domestic and export pellet markets, emerging feedstocks, product diversification, certification and sustainability, policy and regulatory developments, and opportunities for expanding the use of densified biomass. Case studies featuring real-world operating data, lessons learned and measurable results are especially encouraged.

Track 2: Biomass Power & Thermal
This track will explore the continued evolution of biomass power and thermal generation, with an emphasis on improving the performance and economics of existing assets while identifying new opportunities for biomass-based energy. Topics may include boiler and combustion technologies, CHP, district heating, emissions control, fuel flexibility, plant optimization, maintenance and reliability, conversions and retrofits, and strategies for extending the life of existing facilities. Additional areas of interest include industrial heat, community-scale energy, forest and wildfire mitigation residues, waste wood and other underutilized feedstocks, as well as policy, permitting and market developments affecting the sector. Presentations demonstrating how biomass power and thermal projects can address regional energy, waste or forest management challenges are encouraged.

Track 3: Biogas & Renewable Natural Gas (RNG)
This track will examine opportunities and challenges across the biogas and renewable natural gas value chain, from feedstock and digestion through upgrading, transportation and end use. Topics may include anaerobic digestion, gas upgrading and cleanup, feedstock management and pretreatment, codigestion, digestate management, operations and maintenance, interconnection, pipeline injection, virtual pipelines and project development. Additional areas of interest include dairy and livestock manure, food and beverage waste, wastewater, landfill gas, carbon intensity, environmental attributes and emerging end markets for biogas and RNG. Case studies examining project economics, financing, policy and incentives, operational challenges and lessons learned from facilities already in operation are also encouraged.

Track 4: SAF, Renewable Diesel & Sustainable Marine Fuel
This track will focus on the technologies, feedstocks, projects and market developments driving production of sustainable aviation fuel, renewable diesel and sustainable marine fuels. Topics may include commercial and emerging conversion pathways, feedstock availability and pretreatment, plant development and optimization, carbon intensity, project economics, financing, policy and incentives, logistics and offtake. Of particular interest is the role of intermediate fuels and molecules—including ethanol and methanol—as building blocks for SAF and marine fuel production, as well as opportunities to integrate existing biofuel, refining and biomass infrastructure into these growing markets. Regional strategies and developing production hubs, including efforts underway in Cascadia, the Minneapolis-St. Paul region and other areas, are also of interest.

Track 5: Industrial Biocarbon (North American Biocarbon Conference)
This track will examine the rapidly developing market for biomass-derived carbon products and their use as alternatives to fossil-based carbon in industrial applications. Abstracts submitted under this track will be considered for the North American Biocarbon Conference, which is to be colocated with the International Biomass Conference & Expo. Topics may include biocarbon, biochar, torrefied biomass and other thermochemically produced materials, including production technologies, feedstock selection and preparation, product quality and specifications, densification, storage, handling and transportation. Of particular interest are applications in steelmaking, metals, cement and other hard-to-decarbonize industries, along with projects demonstrating commercial-scale production or industrial use. Additional topics may include market development, customer requirements, project economics, carbon accounting, certification, coproduct opportunities and the challenges of scaling production to meet industrial demand.
